I actually only knew about two kinds of cat litter before I adopted Lumos and Noxie: clay and crystal. We hadn’t had any new kitties in a long, so we weren’t even aware of the amazing world of clumping cat litter.
That’s why we grabbed our grocery store’s cheapest crystal litter as soon as Lumos & Noxie entered our home.
“Cheap and convenient,” I thought.
I was unaware that even though it was “cheap,” we were using absurdly large amounts of it! It was not going to endure very long.

The ecosystem DOES NOT benefit from crystal litter.
I was astounded to learn how detrimental crystal litter, also known as litter made of silica gel, is to the ecosystem!
